The Center for Biomedical Advancement
The Center for Biomedical Advancement (CBA) exists to expand access to clear, reliable, and inspiring scientific education at a moment when medicine and biotechnology are reshaping nearly every aspect of human health. For many students, early exposure to these fields can define future opportunities — yet the pathways into laboratory research, clinical practice, or bio-innovation often remain opaque, inaccessible, or unevenly distributed.
CBA was founded to help change that.
Our mission is to democratize understanding of biomedical careers by providing free, public-facing resources that translate complex systems into practical guidance. We believe that young people should be able to explore scientific futures not because they already know the right people or attend the right schools, but because information itself is made accessible, accurate, and empowering.
Through open webinars, research-driven articles, and clear explanations of pre-med, research, and innovation pathways, CBA works to:
1. Broaden participation in biomedical fields,
2. Support students curious about human health and scientific discovery, and
3. Contribute to a more informed, equitable pipeline of future clinicians, researchers, and innovators.

Mentorship Program
One-on-One Mentorship
The Center for Biomedical Advancement offers a limited number of free one-on-one mentorship opportunities for students with serious intellectual interest in medicine, biotechnology, public health, neuroscience, and related fields.
Students are paired with mentors for individualized conversations, guidance, and academic support tailored to their interests and goals. Rather than following a rigid curriculum, mentorship is designed around exploration: helping students think more deeply, ask better questions, and begin engaging with complex scientific and biomedical ideas at a higher level.
Sessions may focus on:
-
Exploring scientific interests and possible academic pathways
-
Developing independent project or research ideas
-
Learning how to approach scientific literature and inquiry
-
Discussing careers and emerging issues in medicine and biotechnology
-
Building intellectual confidence and long-term direction
The program is intended for curious, motivated students who want more than résumé-building alone. Strong mentorship relationships are built through initiative, consistency, and genuine engagement with ideas.
As part of the Center for Biomedical Advancement’s mission to expand access to advanced scientific mentorship, the program is currently offered at no cost to selected students.
